What. A. Day.
We entered several teams into this year’s Revesby Running Festival, and what a day it turned out to be!
Spirits were high, the weather (mostly) held out, and the atmosphere was buzzing as our teams set out to tackle the 10-leg relay, with each leg covering a tough 5k route.
As the day went on, so did the challenge. Cutoff times got tighter, the legs got harder, and the determination got stronger. Most teams managed to power through 7 or 8 legs before the clock caught up with them.
Three teams managed to push through to leg 9, only two made it to leg 10 with just one team crossing the final finish line.
That team? Andrew, Ben, Graham, and Samuel, pulled off an incredible collective effort — meeting every cutoff. Sam brought it home in spectacular style, running the final leg in under 20 minutes, through torrential rain, cheered on by the rest of the club... though, in fairness, most of that cheering came from under the two “dry-ish” gazebos!
Despite a brutal course, unpredictable weather, and rising tension with each leg, the day was filled with camaraderie, encouragement, laughter, and plenty of classic Beaver spirit.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, supported, and helped make the day such a brilliant successcc!
