Dambuster Olympic Triathlon, Club Championships

Set against the stunning backdrop of Rutland Water Reservoir, this ever-popular Olympic distance triathlon served up a real challenge – particularly in the water, where strong winds created choppy conditions and slower swim times across the board.

Belvoir Tri Club was out in force, with impressive performances all around!

Marjike took part in the Club Championship event and walked away with a well-earned 3rd in her age group. Despite being more inclined toward long-distance racing, she surprised herself. She crossed the line in 02:56.

Lisa, the second lady back for BTC, finished 7th in her age group, just behind in 03:00:16. A familiar face on this course, Lisa was pleased with a strong bike and improved run.

Elizabeth, completing only her second standard distance triathlon, tackled a tough swim but held on strong through the bike and run, finishing in 03:19. A great result in testing conditions!

Andrew led the BTC men and was thrilled to finish 4th in his age group (out of 36) on his first attempt at this distance. First out of the water, a a few overtook him on the bike (had to stop when his chain came off early on) then held his position on the run.He crossed the line in an impressive 02:22.

Steve, also making his Olympic distance debut, was second male home. A solid swim, a challenging bike in windy conditions, and a gritty run brought him home in 03:05. Great determination!

Tom Dean, BTC’s third male finisher, powered through the same tough swim and bike conditions to finish in 03:21 – a strong performance in a demanding race.
Well done everyone, top racing
