Train With Us: Your Weekly Lineup
You don’t need to be an elite athlete to join our sessions. Whether you want to master one sport or tackle all three, our coached sessions are designed to be the best hour of your day.
Friendly Tip: Every Sunday, we post the "Week Ahead" schedule on our Members’ Facebook Group, so you’ll always know exactly where to be and who’s leading the session.
🏊 In the Pool: Confidence in Every Lane
When: Mondays @ 6:00am | Saturdays @ 7:00am (60 mins)
Where: The Meres Leisure Centre, Grantham.
The Vibe: We take over half the pool with four dedicated lanes. Lane 1 is for those finding their fins; Lane 4 is for the speedsters.
- What we do: Focus on front crawl technique and swim fitness.
- What to bring: Just your suit and a towel. We have fins, boards, and pull buoys you can borrow for free.
- Don't worry: Our coaches write the plan on the whiteboard and walk you through it. It’s structured, supportive, and way better than swimming solo.
- 💡 Pro Tip for Fast Progress: Want more 1-on-1 feedback? Monday mornings are your secret weapon. With more coach capacity and a quieter pool, it’s the best time to get that extra technical advice to really transform your stroke.
Is this the right lane for you?
We want you to feel confident from your very first splash. Our sessions are coached, but they aren’t "learn-to-swim" lessons—they are designed to help you improve.
A good guide to get the most out of our sessions:
- You can comfortably swim 8 lengths (200m) without stopping.
- You can swim a few lengths of front crawl with your face in the water.
Not quite there yet? We’ll help you get ready.
If you’re still building your confidence, don’t worry—everyone starts somewhere. We have two great ways to help you bridge the gap:
1. The Meres Swim School: Their expert instructors are brilliant at helping adults master the basics and build up their stamina. Find out more here.
2. The "Get Ready" Boost: Reach out to us! One of our club coaches can often arrange a few 1-to-1 sessions to work specifically on your stroke and breathing. It's the perfect way to build the confidence you need to dive into our group lanes with a smile.
🏃 On the Road: Your Wednesday Run Crew
When: Wednesdays @ 6:30pm (60 mins)
Where: Asda Car Park (near the Union St. steps), Grantham.
The Vibe: Road runs, canal paths, and hills—but always together.
- What we do: We usually offer 5k and 10k options. Expect some "intervals" (short bursts of speed) to help you improve without even noticing.
- No Runner Left Behind: We use a "loop back" system so the fastest and slowest runners all finish at the same time.
- What to bring: Weather-appropriate gear and a light/torch for those winter evening runs.
Finding Your Stride
To get the most out of our Wednesday night sessions, it’s helpful to have a foundation of steady running. A great guide is being able to run 5km (3 miles) non-stop. If you can cover that distance in roughly 40 minutes or less, you’ll be in the perfect position to enjoy the session and see your fitness fly!
Not quite there yet? We’ll help you bridge the gap.
If you’re still working on those first few kilometers, don’t worry—everyone starts with a single step. Here are two ways to get "run-ready":
1. Couch to 5K: We highly recommend the NHS Couch to 5K app. It's a brilliant, self-paced way to build up your running over 9 weeks. Once you hit that 5K mark, come and join the crew!
2. Your Personal Run Plan: Reach out to us! One of our run leads will have a chat with you to suggest a simple "get-ready" plan. We'll help you build the stamina you need so you feel strong and ready for a Wednesday night.
🚴 On the Saddle: Sunday Socials & Winter Turbos
When: Sunday Mornings (1–2 hours)
Where: The Meres Car Park (near the stadium).
The Vibe: Fresh air and the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. These are "No Drop" rides—meaning the group stays together, no matter what.
- What we do: We ride in groups based on pace (usually 10mph up to 18mph). In the summer, we almost always find time for a coffee and cake stop!
- The Gear: You’ll need a working bike (road bikes are best) and a helmet is mandatory.
- Winter "Turbo" Training: When the weather turns, we move indoors! We host virtual group rides on Zwift or Teams so you can keep the legs moving from your living room.
Finding Your Gears
To get the most out of our Sunday Socials, it’s helpful to have a foundation of steady cycling. A great guide is being able to ride around 20km (12 miles) at a pace of roughly 12mph. This ensures you’ll be in a strong position to enjoy the group energy and the scenery!
Not quite there yet? We’ve got a plan for you.
If you’re still building up your miles, don't sweat it—we love helping new riders find their legs. Get in touch! One of our ride leaders will have a chat with you and help put together a simple "get-ready" plan to help you build the confidence and stamina to join the Sunday crew.
New to group training?
We know showing up the first time is the hardest part. If you’re nervous about your bike, your swim stroke, or your pace, just reach out.
