2026 St Aidans Day Event
St. Aidan’s League Event – Saturday 25th April
Due to the rearrangement of this year’s St. Aidan’s League event, the competition format has been adjusted to take place over a single day.
The event will be held on Saturday 25th April, commencing promptly at 10:00am.
Entries
Participants may enter in one of the following ways:
- Individual entry (a number of players have already registered), or
- Team entry consisting of 4 players (2 men and 2 ladies)

- You have already signed up but no longer wish to participate
- You would like to play but are experiencing difficulty using the app

Team Entry Guidelines
For teams of four players, the following rules apply:
- Maximum of 1 male player from the top 5 groups in the mixed ladder (or equivalent standard)
- 1–2 male players from groups 6 and below (or equivalent standard)
- Maximum of 1 female player from the top 7 groups in the mixed ladder (or equivalent standard)
- 1–2 female players from groups 8 and below (or equivalent standard)
Notes:
- All players in the women’s ladder are considered equivalent to Group 8 or below in the mixed ladder
- For players not previously ranked, the administrator will assign an appropriate level
Entry Fee:
- €15 per person
- €60 per team of 4
Competition Format
- There will be at least two groups, each competing for prizes
- Each group will play a round robin format, with the top two teams progressing to the final
Each match will consist of two games, either:
- 1 Men’s Doubles + 1 Ladies’ Doubles, or
- 2 Mixed Doubles
A coin toss will determine the match format.
Each team must play at least one Mixed Doubles match during the round robin stage.
Match Format
- Matches will be played as 2 Fast 4 sets
- If tied after two sets, a 5-point tie-break will decide the winner
- Each game win earns 2 points
- Matches are expected to last 20–25 minutes to ensure the event runs smoothly
Schedule
- Event start: 10:00am sharp
- Prize giving: approximately 5:00pm
Charity Coffee Morning
A coffee morning will take place alongside the event in aid of The Samaritans, and in memory of Paul Brennan.
There will be a wide selection of food, tea, and coffee available at reasonable prices, all supporting a very worthy cause.
Bonus Event – “One Shot Championship”
We will also be running a fun side competition during the day:
- Matches are randomly drawn (no seedings)
- Each match consists of a single point only
- One player serves, one receives
- Server is decided by Rock–Paper–Scissors
- No second serve
- The winner of the point wins the match
Entry Fee: €2 (proceeds to St. Aidan’s Charity)
A prize will be awarded to the winner.
