After many months of not being able to race due to covid restrictions the Tallington Lakes triathlon was the first opportunity for many eager Beavers to get back to triathlon racing again.
17 members joined in the fun. 8 in the sprint distance race and 9 in the Olympic race which was also the Club Olympic Championship. The results speak for themselves showing we are very competitive club in the local scene.
Results in the Club Olympic Champs:
Female - 1st Claire (Louise) Grieves, 2nd Female Claire Temprell, 3rd Roz Grindey
Male - 1st Chris Masters, 2nd Mark Angeloni, 3rd Chris Pugh
Results in the overall competion were:
Claire G 1st F35-39, Chris Masters 10th overall, Mark A 15th overall 3rd in M50-54, Chris Pugh 20th overall 4th in M50-54
Notable results in the sprint were from one of our newest members Sarah Chynoweth who was 1st lady in the Sprint comp and fifth overall. Sophie Hunt 1st lady in the F40-44 category. Kate Dewar who was 4th in the F45-49.
Mick Oliver who was 4th male and third followed closely by Wayne Searle 4th in a very competitive M50-54 age category. Dale Kitchen who was 3rd in M40-44 age category. Geoff Collier who first in the M60-64 age category.
It was a really fun morning and great for us all to be racing and supporting each other. There was a very noisy Beaver contingency with The 'Loud Ladies Club' who could be heard from the top end of the run course and another group who had ridden from Grantham to support their fellow club members.
