Notes from the coach
Introduction to on-road cycling.
Ready to leave the cycle paths behind and take on the open road? This session is for anyone over 16 years of age who wants to build their cycling confidence on-road.
Cycling Scotland tutor Chris Johnson will introduce you to on-road cycle training in a range of quiet locations using roads, shared-use paths and designated cycle lanes. The session will gradually build your confidence in cycling on the road and in traffic.
What do I need? Clothes suitable for the weather conditions and a bike in working order. If you require access to a bike during the course please enquire at activeschools@south-ayrshire.gov.uk. Training starts in a traffic free environment before going on-road in quiet streets before progressing as you build confidence. We will be outside for 2 hours but cycling will not be strenuous!
