Skipton Cricket Club

Welcome! Skipton CC was founded in 1853, shortly after the main Victorian mills were built in the town during the 1830s and 1840s. The Club quickly earned a successful reputation on becoming Members of the Yorkshire Cricket Council and was one of the foremost Clubs in the County.

There have been various County players associated with the Club over the years and, most recently, James Whitaker, a junior with the Club, captained Leicestershire to two County Championships and played one Test against Australia in the successful 1987 tour down under, when the Ashes were won. James was appointed Chairman of Sectors for the England Test team from January 2014.

We are ECB Clubmark accredited and play in the Aire-Wharfe Cricket League having joined in 1936 as founder members where we have 3 Senior teams with a strong junior presence in the teams and some of our very talented Ladies cricketers participating in the 2023 season

2024 will see our second season in the West Yorkshire Women and Girls League with our very popular senior Ladies team.

We have a very strong youth set up at present running teams from under 9s to under 18s (Mixed and Girls only) at both hardball and softball where we will be supported by 5 ECB Level 2 coaches in 2024 and a fantastic band of volunteers.

We are always looking for new members and players and welcome anyone who is interested in their cricket!
