MULTI USE GAMES AREA (PACT)

The Peterhead Area Community Trust (PACT) is a registered Scottish charity (SC048463) dedicated to improving the lives of people in Peterhead. Our core mission revolves around using sport as a vehicle to foster community cohesion, promote health, build confidence, and provide opportunities for local residents.

Here's a breakdown of what we do:

Mission and Objectives:

 * Improve Community Cohesion: We aim to bring people together and strengthen community bonds.

 * Promote Health and Wellbeing: This includes encouraging participation in physical and leisure activities and supporting healthy lifestyle programs.

 * Build Confidence and Achieve Goals: We strive to empower individuals to think differently about themselves and work towards their potential.

 * Enhance Recreational and Sporting Facilities: PACT engages with the community to understand their needs and works to provide or improve local recreational and sporting spaces.

 * Support Community Engagement Programmes: This encompasses a wide range of initiatives such as healthy lifestyle, re-employment opportunities, adult education, reduction in crime and disorder, and addressing social isolation and poverty.

 * Support Peterhead-based Organizations: We offer assistance to other local groups through administration, funding, and stakeholder engagement.

 * Manage Community Facilities and Assets: PACT takes on the management of community facilities, land, and associated assets for the benefit of Peterhead.

Key Activities and Projects:

PACT is actively involved in several initiatives, including:

 * Regenerating Public Parks and Recreational Spaces: A notable example is their work on Barclay and Victoria Parks, which has seen significant refurbishment, including a new pavilion, bike tracks, and play equipment. We also aim to bring abandoned areas like Victoria Community Park back into use for the community.

 * Promoting Physical Activity: We provide opportunities for increased participation in sports and leisure.

 * Community Engagement: PACT actively consults with residents and collaborates with other organizations to understand and address local needs.

How we  benefit the community:

PACT's efforts contribute to Peterhead by:

 * Providing accessible and improved recreational facilities.
