The champagne corks have been popping in the streets of Ellon this week after Sandra Stewart learnt that she had qualified to represent the Great Britain Age Group Team  in next years World Sprint Triathlon Championships to be held in Hamburg.

This is all the more amazing in that this is her first serious year of triathlon training and racing and her first attempt at qualifying for GB team.

It's been a great year so far Sandra, in her first open water race at the Scottish Aquathlon Championships she finished 3rd in her age group, collecting her first National medal.

And last weekend she won her age group at the Gordonstoun Triathlon despite a fall on the run in slippy conditions.

Its probably about time Sandra ordered a bigger medal rack!  Well done from all at Trythan!!
