I hope you all survived the back to back storms. It was fair wild out there.

This week’s news is as follows:-

SQUASH

Ladies of Squash

More than 16 ladies took part in our Ladies of Squash evening on Friday, January 19th, beginning with a lively salsa warm-up!

We had ladies from our introduction classes, beginner classes and more experienced female squash players engaged in several hours of competitive matches.

Over 8 squash clubs in Munster were extended invitations to join the event. It was delightful to witness numerous ladies from LLTC actively supporting and participating throughout the night. The evening was filled with salsa, laughter, intense squash matches...and cocktail sausages…!

 

A massive THANK YOU to Avril for organising and running the event! 

Limerick Open
The 2024 Limerick Open will be held at LLTC on March 9th and 10th

This is a PSA ranked event, sanctioned by Irish Squash and the Professional Squash Association and is a fixture on the National Squash Tour.

This competition will attract competitors of the highest level from across the country. All players will be contesting for ranking points which will hopefully gain them entry to Irish National Squads.

Highfield Open
This 2 day competition will be held in Highfield Squash Club, Cork on Friday, February 9 (from 5:30 p.m.) and Saturday, February 10 (from approx.. 9:30 a.m.). Each section will have 8 players with 3 matches per player.

Jan/Feb Box League
The Box League is up and running this month and we can see the competition heating up already!

We realise groups may need more time to organise themselves, so this round will run until the end of February, or until all matches are complete.

Sunday Social Squash
Sunday Social has returned!

Every Sunday, we open the courts for friendly matches between members and those currently enrolled in a Squash Course, from 15:30-16:30.

The last Sunday of each month (i.e. this Sunday, Jan 28th), members are allowed

 

TENNIS

 

Our Monthly social tennis will be held on Friday  2nd February at 7.15 pm. 

Balls are provided.  €10 per person. Fun mixed tennis followed by Pizza in the bar. 

All members welcome.

JUNIOR TENNIS

 

 

Sunday Funday & Hitting Sessions 2024

 

Following the success of our Sunday fun hitting sessions last year we have grouped together an excellent group of volunteers to help get this project off the ground again.

 

The focus is to work on the FUNdamental movement skills with the smaller children and work on Speed, Agility and Quickness with the older groups.

 

These sessions are free to all members & a good opportunity to use the club outside of coaching

 

Starting this Sunday January 21st, January 28th & February 11th/18th.

 

Little Aces 3:15-3:45

Red & Orange Ball 4-5

Green & Yellow 5-6

 

Please forward your Child's or children's, name and ball group to Keith Mc

If you would like to volunteer to assist in these sessions, we would love to hear from you!

to bring one guest. Remember, correct, clean, non-marking footwear must be worn by all!
