Club Newsletter October 3rd

Dear Club Member

Tennis News

Sincere thanks to everybody for supporting our Retro event last Friday night in aid of Cliona’s Foundation. We raised €2,520 which is a fantastic effort for such a worthy cause. Thank you to our main organiser Diarmuid Mulholland and all his merry band of helpers.

We are delighted to announce that our application for the 2023 Capital Grants Programme has been successful and we have been granted €30,500 as partial grant for the replacement of our old and failing boiler.  We’ll be toasty for the winter!!

Retro Squash Night - A Smashing Success!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Retro Squash Night! It was a blast from the past with some fantastic "wooden racket" action and dazzling whites that would put any laundry detergent commercial to shame. While it was a fun trip down memory lane, we'll be sticking with our modern carbon rackets for now... at least until next year's retro rematch!

We were delighted to be able to contribute to the overall charitable success for Cliona's Foundation. And thank you to the Tennis Committee and event organisers for all their hard work.

And congratulations to Mike Sheehy, who won 'Best Dressed Squash Player' of the evening!
