SQUASH NEWS

2024 Squash Club Championship
Thank you all for joining us last week to witness the thrilling finals of the LLTC Squash Club Championship 2024. With 20 players competing throughout the week, including both men and women of various skill levels, the event was a great success.

It's been a long time coming for some categories; our last Men's Club Championship was in 2019, and the last Ladies Club Championship was nearly thirty years ago, in 1995. This year, we saw significant improvement from our beginner and intermediate players, and we are confident that the 2025 edition will be even more exciting!

Congratulations to our champions and runners-up:

2024 Finals Results

Ladies Club Champion: Dierdre Collins
Ladies Runner-Up: Arlene Carroll

Men's Club Champion: Donal Carroll
Men's Runner-Up: Barry Hession

Ladies Squash Clinic
The Ladies of Squash are delighted to announce a Summer Ladies Clinic starting next Monday, June 10 at 19:30. This social evening of squash skills will focus on balance, movement, and strength in a fun and engaging way. Activities will include:

  • Squash
  • Pickle Squash
  • Squash Soccer (yes, really!)
  • Tag Rugby

It’s a fantastic way to stay active over the summer, make new friends, and improve your skills. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. For more information or to reserve your spot, please reach out to Avril.

Ladies of Squash BBQ
On Friday, June 21, LoS will be hosting a fundraising BBQ for the South of Ireland Tennis for Ladies of Squash. If a gourmet burger with homemade coleslaw, cucumber relish, and other delicious sides sounds tempting, come by during the Friday night. Calling all members, friends, family  - drop down and enjoy the tennis while munching on a burger and side.

A great tennis and squash collaboration. This evening wouldn't be possible without Elaine and her committees' backing.

Sunday Social
Although the squash season is technically over for the summer, the courts are still open! Keep them active by joining us for Sunday Social this Sunday from 15:30 to 17:30. It’s a great way to stay engaged and enjoy some friendly matches.

Thank you all for your continued participation and support!

Lost Property

There is a lost property locker in the both the men’s and ladies changing room.  It’s mostly junior clothing and water bottles.   Can the juniors/parents have a look.  It would be great to repatriate the items, if not they will be disposed of.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Regards
