147th South of Ireland

Our 147th South of Ireland was a huge success!

Please see below a message from our Tennis Captain, Elaine O’Grady:

Dear All Members

I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who helped. Our 8-day tournament was a great success, and I am truly thankful for the immense effort and support that made it all possible. A huge thank you to EY for their continued support of our club and tournament.

While the tournament is officially 8 days long, the amount of hard work put in by everyone involved extended far beyond that. It was a pleasure working alongside each of you – especially Niamh, Niall and all the BBQ crew for keeping us fed throughout the week!

A special thank you to CJ Kelly for putting together the fantastic schedule and for handling some challenging umpiring situations. Dealing with the various queries and demands during the events are no easy task, and I appreciate the time and effort invested. Hopefully, by next year, CJ will have conveniently forgotten all the challenges and be ready to come out of retirement again! If not, we may just have to witness his attempt at the triple once more!

We received an overwhelming number of compliments for our efforts, and I'd like to extend a big thank you to all of us for making it happen.

Lastly, a big thank you to all the supporters who joined us on finals day and throughout the week. It was great to see so many club members come out to support. Even though some of us didn't emerge victorious, I believe it was the crowd that got myself and Martin to the third set! Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who participated.

Once again, thank you all so much for your dedication and hard work.

Warm regards,

Elaine

Hard luck to Eoghan’s team who unfortunately lost to a strong Nenagh team, who then progressed on to win the final.
