Awards Night 2026

Castle Tri 2025 Season Awards – A Night to Remember

Castle Tri celebrated the 2025 season in style at our annual awards evening, recognising the incredible commitment, performances and team spirit shown throughout the year.

It has been a season defined by fantastic effort from everybody — from first-time racers to podium finishers, from dedicated volunteers to supportive family and friends. Week after week, our members represented the club with pride, determination and sportsmanship across triathlons, duathlons and open water events.

The awards evening was a brilliant opportunity to reflect on personal bests, breakthrough performances and the consistency that makes Castle Tri such a strong and supportive club. Receiving an award at club level is always special — not just for the achievement itself, but because it comes from your training partners, teammates and friends who see the hard work that happens behind the scenes in dark winter mornings and long summer sessions.

Every nominee and winner should feel immensely proud. The real success of 2025, however, lies in the shared commitment, encouragement and community spirit that continues to drive Castle Tri forward.

Congratulations to all our award winners, and thank you to everyone who made the 2025 season such a memorable one. Here’s to an even bigger and stronger 2026!

Spirit of Tri

Ray has been an outstanding and valued member of the club throughout the year.
He goes out of his way to speak with members old and new, helping to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

This year, Ray stepped into the role of Vice Chair, with the intention of taking on the Chair position for the 2027 season. His willingness to lead and support the club’s future direction is greatly appreciated.

Ray has volunteered at multiple events, representing the club with commitment and enthusiasm. Thanks to his efforts—and those of other dedicated members—the club received a generous donation from Wild Deer Events.

In addition, Ray has taken on a coaching role, working towards his Level 1 coaching qualification. This is a significant contribution that will strengthen the club’s training and development opportunities for years to come.

Ray was also an invaluable part of the support crew for the Whitehaven‑to‑Tynemouth cycle challenge. This demanding, full‑day commitment saw him provide constant encouragement, humour, and storytelling—lifting the spirits of both cyclists and fellow support crew members throughout the event.

Thank you, Ray, for everything you have contributed to the club this year. Your dedication, positivity, and leadership make a real difference.
